As a workshop leader, Gina has devised and led workshops in various schools across Cheltenham as part of the Cheltenham Festivals Musicate programme. In May 2018 she presented the Jazz for Schools concert as part of the Cheltenham Jazz Festival. Gina continues to deliver workshops in primary schools as part of the Music for Schools programme at Cheltenham Festivals.
Gina joined the creative team behind a brand new community opera, Across the Sky, which will performed as the finale of the 2019 Cheltenham Music Festival. This role involves leading the recently formed community choir Local Vocals alongside Michael Betteridge. Gina will also be performing as a soloist in the opera.
Gina is currently singing with Via Nova, a Birmingham based contemporary
Vocal Ensemble. They are currently doing a recording project entitled
Where the Marsh Plants Grow, which is centred on the eponymous work by Kerry Andrew. This new recording includes diverse musical explorations of how human beings interact with the earth, from the musings of Tudor herbalists to contemporary reflections on wassail songs and bees.
As the Learning Trainee at Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, Gina assists with the running of the Learning and Participation department as well as devising Music Maze workshops alongside Nancy Evans. The Music Maze workshops run monthly at the CBSO Centre and are free for 8-11 year olds. To find out more please visit BCMG's website.
Gina and Pete Churchill were invited to deliver a Vocal Workshop with the Princes Trust as part of their 'Get started with music' week in November 2018. At the end of the 2 hour workshop the group performed to the Prince's Trust employees. Watch the video here
Gina regularly volunteers for the Choir With No Name, working with those affected by homelessness. Every week she attends the rehearsal and helps cook dinner for up to 60 people and sings with the choir.
